{"id":324,"date":"2017-02-25T05:22:00","date_gmt":"2017-02-25T05:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mediawerks.ca\/?p=324"},"modified":"2022-11-24T18:36:55","modified_gmt":"2022-11-24T18:36:55","slug":"double-au-quebec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mediawerks.ca\/n\/2017\/02\/25\/double-au-quebec\/","title":{"rendered":"Doubl\u00e9 au Qu\u00e9bec"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contrary to popular belief propagated by commercial stakes rather than cultural differences, it is difficult to differentiate between French-language dubbing done in Quebec and in France unless a deliberate decision has been made to use a particular dialect (as in the case of the <em>Simpsons<\/em>, <em>Family Guy<\/em>, or <em>The Trotsky<\/em>). In addition to the several acting schools that have supplied voice acting talent to the dubbing industry for decades, there is a large number of French ex-pat actors based throughout Quebec, whose presence in the local dubbing scene should disperse any illusion of a local, and therefore supposedly less marketable inflection.
